About 100 members from the 202nd RED HORSE Squadron, based at Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, FL, returned to the 125th Fighter Wing, Jacksonville, FL, following an 8-month deployment to the middle east. The unit was deployed to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. They accomplished multiple air base/air facility, hangar, runway and other heavy engineer repair and construction projects throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. A new state-of-the-art Quickrange live-fire space opened to Airmen of the 125th Fighter Wing Dec. 3, 2020 at the Jacksonville Air National Guard Base, FL. The 25-meter range features 12 shooting stalls, a complete HVAC and air purification system, environmentally-friendly low-angle steel traps which collect spent rounds and debris for disposal or recycling, and various light configurations to simulate night-time firing conditions and first responder lights. Citizen Airman brings hope and health to community

NORAD supports first U.S. manned space launch in nine years
Florida Air National Guard F-15s from the 125th Fighter Wing, Jacksonville, Florida, conducted a North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) mission, defending the skies over the Kennedy Space Center during the first manned space launch in nearly nine years, Cape Canaveral, Florida, May 30, 2020. NORAD is responsible for detecting, deterring, defending and if necessary, defeating any aviation threats to the citizens of North America and critical infrastructure, to included manned space launches.
