Environmental Management

125th Fighter Wing ShieldThe 125th Fighter Wing is an Air National Guard unit headquartered at Jacksonville International Airport, Florida. The unit operates under the Air Combat Command and is tasked with aerospace control and air defense, ensuring rapid response capabilities for state and federal missions. The wing is also postured to deploy globally in support of combat operations, humanitarian missions, and disaster relief efforts.

These missions require proper aircraft and vehicle maintenance, repair, and training activities that comply with federal and State of Florida environmental laws and regulations. The 125th Fighter Wing works with the various organizations to ensure environmental compliance is enforced.

The Environmental Compliance website covers the various aspects of proper environmental stewardship. The Environmental Restoration website covers the cleanup activities that are addressing past contaminant releases.

Management System

The 125th FW is committed to excellence in all aspects of environmental stewardship activities using the Air Force Environmental Management System. This commitment and use of EMS applies to all activities, products and services associated with the wing, and its units and contractors.

The 125th FW complies with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and policy; reducing risks to the mission; preventing pollution and continuously improving environmental performance. Our goal is 100 percent compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local environmental requirements while sustaining our mission.

Our unit promotes environmental quality throughout the mission by integrating and maintaining an effective EMS; protecting human health and the environment; incorporating environmental commitments to applicable policies and programs; encouraging an environmental culture across all levels of management; enhancing relations with regulatory agencies; partnering with all stakeholders to promote resource conservation and achieving continual improvement to environmental performance.

Environmental Participation

The public is encouraged to participate in the 125th FW Environmental Restoration Program. Current information on the program can be found by navigating throughout this website.

As part of the commitment to fostering open communication and collaboration with the local community and environmental protection, we are developing a Community Involvement Plan (CIP) for Air National Guard facilities located at Jacksonville Air National Guard Base and Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, FL. A CIP is a strategic framework that outlines the base's efforts to engage with and facilitate communication between the base and the local community in matters related to the Environmental Restoration Program at these facilities. It serves as a blueprint for fostering positive relationships, improving communications, and ensuring transparency.

Environmental Restoration

The 125th FW hosts a rich eco-system within its locations across the State of Florida. There is an ongoing environmental cleanup program at Jacksonville Air National Guard Base and Camp Blanding, Florida, to reduce the risk of chemical exposure, and protect human health and the environment. This program is called the Environmental Restoration Program (ERP).
