    JACKSONVILLE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Fla. - Maj. Kevin Hand is the Chief Weapons and Tactics Officer for the 159th Fighter Squadron. He trains pilots how to train other pilots. He also just got back from Air Force Weapons School where he learned the latest tactics in air combat. 
  • Florida Guard inducts new chiefs

    12 inductees continue a tradition that began 61 years ago; the rank of chief master sergeant did not exist until 1958 when Congress authorized the rank with the Career Compensation Act of that same year. Chief master sergeants serve as advisors to unit commanders and senior officers, and as mentors to non-commissioned officers and junior enlisted members.
