New leadership at the helm of 125th Maintenance Group Published Aug. 8, 2023 By Tech Sgt. Chelsea Smith 125th Fighter Wing JACKSONVILLE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Fla. -- U.S. Air Force Col. Carl "Rich" Guckenberger assumed command of the 125th Maintenance Group at a change of command ceremony held Aug. 5, 2023 at the Jacksonville Air National Guard Base, FL. His predecessor, Col. Deborah Garrett, relinquished command as she begins a new role as the Director of Staff - Air, Florida Air National Guard. During the ceremony, Guckenberger promoted to the rank of Colonel where his wife Tara did the honor of pinning on his new rank. Guckenberger previously served as the 125th MXG deputy commander from 2016 to 2023. In his new role, he is responsible for directing all aircraft and equipment maintenance support for three squadrons of F-15C aircraft, as well as the quality and quantity of training for over 600 Airmen, ensuring they are prepared to perform the wing's mission in peacetime and during combat.
