125th Fighter Wing Hosts Senator Marco Rubio Published March 15, 2017 125th Fighter Wing The 125th Fighter Wing (125FW) hosted Senator Marco Rubio for a base tour and mission brief on Friday, March 10, 2017. Senator Rubio met the Wing Command Staff, learned about the various missions of the 125FW, viewed an F-15 static display, and received an update on F-35A Lightning II basing timeline. In December 2016, the Air Force released the candidate bases for the next two Air National Guard-led F-35 bases. The candidate bases included Dannelly Field Air Guard Station (AGS), Alabama; Gowen Field AGS, Idaho; Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan; Truax AGS, Wisconsin and Jacksonville AGS, Florida. The Air Force will be conducting on-the-ground site surveys at Jacksonville 24-28 April, 2017 to assess against operational requirements, potential impacts to existing missions, infrastructure and manpower, and then develop cost estimates to beddown the F-35A.
