CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT KEVIN M. SOUZA

Chief Master Sergeant Kevin M. Souza is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 125th Fighter Wing, Florida Air National Guard. He represents the highest level of enlisted leadership and the principle advisor to the Fighter Wing Commander. Chief Souza is responsible for matters influencing the health, morale, welfare and professional development for over 1600 Florida Air National Guard members. He provides guidance to the 32 Chief Master Sergeants and performs as functional manager for the Fighter Wing’s 13 First Sergeants. Additionally, he represents the command’s enlisted force at a variety of military and civilian conferences, forums and speaking engagements. 

Chief Souza entered the Air Force in October 1988 and served as an Aircraft Armament System Craftsman. As a career aircraft maintainer he has worked in many positions with the Fighter Wings to include Weapons Expeditor, Weapons Flight Chief, Weapons Safety, Weapons Standardization, Wing Weapons Manager, and Aircraft Maintenance Superintendent. His span of tenure as the AMXS Chief led to an unprecedented F-15 Fully Mission Capable rates and stellar aircraft flight safety rating while leading the Combat Air Forces in aircraft sorties and combat mission ready pilots. Also during this time, he led the 125th Fighter Wing to an unprecedented “Highly Effective” rating from the ACC/IG during the Fighter Wing CAPSTONE assessment. Prior to his current assignment in the National Guard, he was an active duty assigned to Eglin AFB and Seymour Johnson, AFB and Spangdahlem AB, while being deployed throughout the world supporting Combatant Commanders and increasing partnerships with our partner nations. Chief Kevin Souza also served overseas on deployments to Germany, Turkey, Thailand, Croatia, Spain, Iceland, Denmark, Italy, and deployed in support of Operation DESERT SHIELD, DESERT STORM, NORHTERN WATCH, SOUTHERN WATCH, DENY FLIGHT, ENDURING FREEDOM, NOBLE EAGLE AND VILLIGANT SHIELD.
